Students who do not attend class on or prior to the census date will be administratively dropped. Effective Fall, 2016
Students who wish to withdraw from a course must complete all steps indicated on the Academic Withdrawal Request form by the course withdrawal deadline.
NOTE: Students who are attending Texas institutions of higher education, for the first time fall 2007 and later, may not withdraw from more than six courses during their academic career. A study of advanced lathe and milling operations. Emphasis on advanced cutting operations of the lathe and milling machines, including the use of special tooling, bench assembly and materials identification.

Students enrolled in an educational program in preparation for obtaining certain occupational licenses are potentially ineligible for such license if the student has been convicted of an offense. End-of-Course Outcomes: Demonstrate proper use of the lathe, milling machine, drill press, power saw, and bench grinder applying good housekeeping, proper safety, and preventative maintenance. Perform bench work including part layout, drilling, reaming, taping, press fitting, location of hole centers and surfaces; set up power saws for cutoff operation; demonstrate tooling maintenance, hazardous material handling, and preventative maintenance.

Projects: Students have two options.
Option 1 NIMS Credentialing. Students choosing to earn NIMS credentials must successfully complete the required part and successfully pass the credentialing exam prior to the last class period. Student must also successfully complete, to print specifications two projects listed in the projects folder, in the Blackboard Class content section of the class.
Option 2 Student projects (Tools). Students who do not wish to earn NIMS credentials will have to choose and successfully complete, to print specifications a minimum of four projects contained in the projects folder, in the Blackboard Class content section of the class.
Homework: Assigned homework is due at the beginning of the first class of the next week. No late homework will be accepted without instructor approval. Homework will consist of Textbook questions, math and theory handouts.
Final: a comprehensive final will be administered.
Attendance in class and lab participation is regarded as a requirement and an obligation for learning. Attendance and participation are graded on the Daily Rubric.
