Students who do not attend class on or prior to the census date will be administratively dropped. Effective Fall, 2016

Student Withdrawal Procedures

Students who wish to withdraw from a course must complete all steps indicated on the Academic Withdrawal Request form by the course withdrawal deadline.

NOTE: Students who are attending Texas institutions of higher education, for the first time fall 2007 and later, may not withdraw from more than six courses during their academic career. This withdrawal limitation does not include dual credit or developmental classes (Senate Bill 1231 Rule 4.10.) DFTG-2321-001 Topographical Drafting

Prerequisites

<p>Prerequisite: DFTG 2319 or department chair consent</p>

Course Description

A course in map drafting. Emphasis is given to plotting of surveyors’ field notes, plotting elevations, contour drawings, plan and profiles, and laying out traverses.

Drafting Tools - Triangles, erasers, mechanical pencils etc.

Student Performance

Student will learn the basics of Topographic drawing and design.

Student will become familiar with the basic use of Topo surveys in industry.

Student will have opportunity to use Survey Instruments to create a Topo

Student will become familiar with mathematics used to create and manipulate Topos

Student will learn what projects Topos are used for.

Student will be given in-class quizzes each week.

Attendance

Students are required to be in class and lecture. 

Each unexcused absence will constitute a 2 point deduction from Final Grade.

3 tardies will equal one absence.
