Students who do not attend class on or prior to the census date will be administratively dropped. Effective Fall, 2016
Students who wish to withdraw from a course must complete all steps indicated on the Academic Withdrawal Request form by the course withdrawal deadline.
NOTE: Students who are attending Texas institutions of higher education, for the first time fall 2007 and later, may not withdraw from more than six courses during their academic career. Introduction to computer programming for solving a variety of problems. This course is intended for
non-computer science and non-computer engineering majors. Emphasis on the fundamentals of design,
development, testing, implementation and documentation of computer programs. Includes problem solving with structured techniques and algorithms using pseudo code and/or graphical representations.

By the end of this class students should have an intermediate understanding of the Swift programming language and development for iOS devices. This includes a deeper familiarity with protocols, delegates, data types, property observers, polymorphism, autolayout, table layout, initializers, and other intermediate topics.
This is a practical class, and I will evaluate your grade based on the work and problem sets I assign throughout the semester.

It is important for you to attend class on time, take good notes, participate in discussion, and complete all assignments. We will have plenty of lab time for you to practice your coding. Please take advantage of it.
Please do not leave class early and don't disrupt class. Do not use mobile phones or other devices during class unless it's necessary for an assignment. Use your tools for class work and not social media.
I will determine your final grade with the following:
Midterm project: 20%
Final project: 20%
Class attendance and participation: 10%
Assignments: 50%
I will take attendance. Attendance and participation make up 10% of your final grade.
