Amarillo College Tutoring for Success Policy:

The Tutoring for Success policy applies to any student whose grade or performance in the course falls below a departmentally determined minimum threshold. In either of those cases, the instructor will direct the student to the appropriate tutoring service, which may be faculty-led, discipline-specific, and/or general. Under this policy, the instructor will follow specific departmental guidelines governing the use, duration, and grade component of the tutoring need.

Administrative Drop Policy

Students who do not attend class on or prior to the census date will be administratively dropped. Effective Fall, 2016

Student Withdrawal Procedures

Students who wish to withdraw from a course must complete all steps indicated on the Academic Withdrawal Request form by the course withdrawal deadline.

NOTE: Students who are attending Texas institutions of higher education, for the first time fall 2007 and later, may not withdraw from more than six courses during their academic career. This withdrawal limitation does not include dual credit or developmental classes (Senate Bill 1231 Rule 4.10.) Topics address recently identified current events, skills, knowledge, and/or attitudes and behaviors pertinent to the technology or occupation and relevant to the professional development of the student. This course was designed to be repeated multiple times to improve student proficiency.

A=90-100, B=80-89, C=70-79, D=60-69, F=59 or below

Attendance

 You will be expected to log-in to the course weekly.  Assignments are posted at least two weeks before the due date.  Assignments are your responsibility and are expected to be turned in on time.  Failure to do so will result in a lower grade.

All assignments are due on Sundays by 11:59 p.m.  Discussion forums are designed to simulate an in-class discussion and cannot be completed after the due date.  Discussion forums not completed by due date will receive a score of zero.  Article summaries may be completed after the due date for reduced credit.  See course website for detailed information.  Final project due Sunday, December 15, by 11:59 p.m.  No late projects will be accepted, for any reason.

This course is designed to help you learn about the importance of teacher-child interactions in early childhood programs.  You will read information from articles and websites supporting the need for high-quality interactions.  We will explore various view-points on how interactions affect young children and how teachers can improve their relationships with children.  Online participation and interaction is essential for your success in this course.
