Amarillo College Tutoring for Success Policy:

The Tutoring for Success policy applies to any student whose grade or performance in the course falls below a departmentally determined minimum threshold. In either of those cases, the instructor will direct the student to the appropriate tutoring service, which may be faculty-led, discipline-specific, and/or general. Under this policy, the instructor will follow specific departmental guidelines governing the use, duration, and grade component of the tutoring need.

Administrative Drop Policy

Students who do not attend class on or prior to the census date will be administratively dropped. Effective Fall, 2016

Student Withdrawal Procedures

Students who wish to withdraw from a course must complete all steps indicated on the Academic Withdrawal Request form by the course withdrawal deadline.

NOTE: Students who are attending Texas institutions of higher education, for the first time fall 2007 and later, may not withdraw from more than six courses during their academic career. This withdrawal limitation does not include dual credit or developmental classes (Senate Bill 1231 Rule 4.10.) Course Description

Theory, operation, diagnosis of drivability concerns, and repair of ignition and fuel delivery systems. Use of current engine performance diagnostic equipment. May be taught manufacturer specific.

  • Identify and interpret engine performance concerns; determine needed action. (P-1)

Fuel, Air Induction, and Exhaust Systems Diagnosis and Repair

Expected Student Behavior

Students are required to comply with the Amarillo College Technical Education Code of Professional Conduct. The Amarillo College Technical Education Code of Professional Conduct will be posted on the bulletin board in the Transportation Career Center and the Academic Classroom Center and will be explained in detail by the Instructor on the first day of class.

Follow Student Code of Conduct. Wear the correct attire for your program, AC shirt, jeans, closed toe shoes/boots that are non-slip. Wear safety glasses when in the shop. Practice good hygiene. 

 Conduct yourself in a professional manner.

Hats are not be worn in class. There will be a 10 point deduction if dress code is not adhered to.

Grading Criteria

Grades:

90 - 100 = A

80- 89.9= B

70 - 79.9 = C

60 - 69.9 = D

0 - 59.9 = F

Attendance = 25%

Lab/Class Participation = 25%

Quizzes/Chapter Reviews = 25%

Final = 25%

You have 3 CALENDAR DAYS to turn in late assignments. Late assignments will automatically get 25% taken off. 

Attendance

Attendance is IMPORTANT! Be on time. Being more than 5 minutes late will result in a deduction of 10 points from your attendance grade for the day. If you leave early, without appropriate notice, a zero will be given for the day. Leaving early will also result in a 25 point deduction for the day.
