Class: The lecture portion of the class will consist of four major exams, one on-location remote, and a final project. There will be ample time to prepare for each exam. There will be opportunities for remotes with Amarillo College events and/or non-profit organized events.
Lab: The Lab portion of COMM 2303 will come from scheduled weekly air shifts on FM90. Two 2-hour shifts are required each week. These shifts will be assigned with the FM90 Program Director based on the students' schedule. Lab grades consist of: number of airshifts, being on time for shifts, two air checks, Attitude, Participation, Teamwork (APT), and overall knowledge of equipment. More than two unexcused absences from the lab meeting will result in you failing the lab portion of the class.
Other requirements: Attendance is a factor as well. We will cover a large amount of material in this class and your attendance is essential. You will be allowed five absences between class and lab. You cannot be on the air if you do not attend class. When a veteran student stops attending class, the Registrar’s Office and the veteran’s counselor will be notified. NO official warnings will be given to students when excessive absences jeopardize their successful completion of the class.
Assignments: Assignments should be turned in when due. An excuse for missing an assignment will be considered on an individual basis. Please speak to the FM90 Program Director if you need any assistance.

Attendance and participation will now be graded based on online discussion questions. These will be updated weekly. You will be required to write two responses each week to the discussion question posted in Blackboard. Your responses must answer the discussion question (i.e., your first response) and also react to the discussion posts of your classmates (i.e., your second response). However, you are more than welcome to pose other questions to bring about other discussions in a separate post. In order to receive full marks in the discussion, your post should incorporate the knowledge gleaned from lectures. Posts without in-depth responses (approx. 100 wds.) will not receive a grade—that being the case, you need to write more than “I agree” or “I disagree.”
Checking In:
Students must check-in weekly with the instructor by Zoom, text, or email.
