Amarillo College Tutoring for Success Policy:

The Tutoring for Success policy applies to any student whose grade or performance in the course falls below a departmentally determined minimum threshold. In either of those cases, the instructor will direct the student to the appropriate tutoring service, which may be faculty-led, discipline-specific, and/or general. Under this policy, the instructor will follow specific departmental guidelines governing the use, duration, and grade component of the tutoring need.

Administrative Drop Policy

Students who do not attend class on or prior to the census date will be administratively dropped. Effective Fall, 2016

Student Withdrawal Procedures

Students who wish to withdraw from a course must complete all steps indicated on the Academic Withdrawal Request form by the course withdrawal deadline.

NOTE: Students who are attending Texas institutions of higher education, for the first time fall 2007 and later, may not withdraw from more than six courses during their academic career. This withdrawal limitation does not include dual credit or developmental classes (Senate Bill 1231 Rule 4.10.) DFTG-2319-001 Intermediate Computer-Aided Drafting

Prerequisites

Prerequisite: DFTG 1309 or department chair consent

Course Description

A continuation of practices and techniques used in basic computer-aided drafting emphasizing batched files, scripted files, customized program menus and extracted attributes. Introduction to three-dimensional drafting.

Expected Student Behavior

Any communication outside of class will be conducted using AC email. 

Students are expected to behave in the classroom in a manner that is supportive of the learning environment.  Disruptive behavior includes, but is not limited to the following: the use of cellular phones, texting, making offensive remarks, reading newspapers, talking, doing homework or other personal projects during class time, or engaging in any other form of distraction.  For a full discussion of appropriate behavior and student responsibilities, please refer to the Student Rights & Responsibilities Handbook on the AC Website. 

If you must take a phone call, please do so in the hallway. 

You may listen to music when working on a project. However, the volume must be at a level that does not disturb others. 

Grading Criteria

Assignments and projects that are late will be lowered 10 points.

Assignments more than a week late will not be accepted, resulting in a 0.

Attendance

8-week courses are very demanding. Keeping up is essential to completing this course. 

Students are expected to attend all regularly scheduled class meetings. Attendance is monitored. If a class is missed, it is the student’s responsibility to determine what may have been missed and take appropriate action.

Attendance will be based on

Present – 100%

Excused Absence – 50% - Excused absences are only if the instructor knows you will be absent

 No Show – 0%

If you will be absent, you must notify the instructor BEFORE class.

Assignments are expected to be turned in on time. Late assignments will lose 10 points. I will not accept assignments over a week late. 

Additional Information

Drinks are allowed ONLY if they have a LID.

Cell phones must either be turned off or set to “vibrate” during class.

  • You are not permitted to watch videos during class.
  • If you must take a phone call, please take it outside in the hallway.

Headphones may be worn while working on an assignment, but the volume must be kept at a level that does not disturb others.

Students can work on other class assignments only after the assignments for this class are complete.

Cheating of any kind will not be tolerated. Students caught cheating or helping someone to cheat will receive a 0 (zero) on that class activity.

The internet CANNOT be used for any non-school related activities during lectures or if the class assignments are not complete.
