All work is provided for each student at the beginning of the semester. It is your responsibility to ensure all work is completed by the scheduled dates.

The purpose of this course is to prepare students to successfully pass the CompTIA A + certification – successfully taking these exams (Core 1 and Core 2) during the course.  Passing the exams will be considered sufficient demonstration of course concepts and mastery.

CompTIA A+ Core 1 and Core 2 Exams will be taken as the Mid-Term and Final Exam for this course. Both exams must be taken in the Amarillo College Testing Center. It is the Student's responsibllity to schedule and complete their exams by each due date listed in the course. The Core 1 and Core 2 exams count as the Mid-Term and Final exam. Each exam will be worth 25% of your grade. Failure to submit the required documents from the exam will result in a zero for this assignment.

How a Core 1 exam score correlates to a grade:

>=675 points = A (95) for Mid-Term exam

540-674 points = B (85) for Mid-Term exam

473-539 points = C (75) for Mid-Term exam

405-472 points = D (65) for Mid-Term exam

Less than 404 points = F (55) for Mid-Term exam

CompTIA A+ certified passing Core 1 for points higher than 675.

How a Core 2 exam score correlates to a grade:

>=700 points = A (95) for Final exam

560-699 points = B (85) for Final exam

490-559 points = C (75) for Final exam

420-489 points = D (65) for Final exam

Less than 419 points = F(55) for Final exam

CompTIA A+ certified passing Core 2 for points higher than 700.
