Amarillo College Tutoring for Success Policy:

The Tutoring for Success policy applies to any student whose grade or performance in the course falls below a departmentally determined minimum threshold. In either of those cases, the instructor will direct the student to the appropriate tutoring service, which may be faculty-led, discipline-specific, and/or general. Under this policy, the instructor will follow specific departmental guidelines governing the use, duration, and grade component of the tutoring need.

Administrative Drop Policy

Students who do not attend class on or prior to the census date will be administratively dropped. Effective Fall, 2016

Student Withdrawal Procedures

Students who wish to withdraw from a course must complete all steps indicated on the Academic Withdrawal Request form by the course withdrawal deadline.

NOTE: Students who are attending Texas institutions of higher education, for the first time fall 2007 and later, may not withdraw from more than six courses during their academic career. This withdrawal limitation does not include dual credit or developmental classes (Senate Bill 1231 Rule 4.10.) A study of the principles of layout of electrical and electronic drawings stressing modern representation used for block diagrams, schematic diagrams, logic diagrams, wiring/assembly drawings, printed circuit board layouts, motor control diagrams, power distribution diagrams and electrical one-line diagrams.

It is the responsibility of the student to initiate drop or withdrawal procedures. Students who stop attending class but do not officially drop or withdraw from this course will receive a letter grade at the end of the semester.  

Any student who, because of a disabling condition, may require some special arrangements in order to meet course requirements should contact the Student Service Center, phone 371-5436 as soon as possible.

Grading Criteria

Students will be given assignments in each class that include both written and drawing tasks. Written assignments are to be typed and printed from Microsoft Word or an equivalent  word processor. Drawing Assignment are to be completed on AutoCAD.

Assignments are due one week from the date assigned. Late assignments will be lowered ten points.

 

Grading Scale

Written Assignments              20% of course grade.

Drawing Assignments            30% of course grade.

Exams                                      40% of course grade.

Final Exam                               10% of course grade.

Announcements, presentations, assignment instructions, grades and resources for the course, will be all on Blackboard. Please learn how to use it.

Attendance

Student is expected attend every lecture. Lab time can be used at the college or at home.
