Tutoring for Success applies to any student whose overall performance in the course falls below 75%. The instructor will create the task in the Student Engagement Portal (Watermark) to direct the student to the appropriate tutoring service, which may be faculty- or SI-led, discipline-specific, and/or general. The tutoring service assigned, the due date for when the tutoring must be completed, and the amount of tutoring required are at the discretion of the instructor. Additionally, the task will alert the student’s success team. Students who do not fulfill the assigned tutoring task may be subject to program- and course-specific penalties that could result in a grade reduction and/or in not being allowed to progress in the course until the tutoring requirement has been satisfied.

Calculator: Students will need a graphing calculator for this course. The recommended calculator is a Texas Instruments TI-84 Plus. Other forms of Texas Instruments or Casio graphing calculators will be permitted at the instructor’s discretion. Note that no TI-89s or TI-Nspires will be permitted. There are FREE APPS available on your smart phone device that will resemble the TI-84 calculator. Please note, although you can use these in the classroom, you cannot use them on a monitored exam. You can also check with the Math Academic Success Center for calculators available for rental.
Internet Access: Students need access to a computer with a reliable internet connection to complete online homework assignments, attend virtual meetings and access to a printer to produce class notes and other handouts.
Printer: Printers are available located in MATH ACADEMIC SUCCESS CENTER located in Durrett Hall 104 or THE UNDERGROUND lab located in Ware Building. Hours of operation are located on their AC Webpage and at the bottom of your syllabus.

Scholastic Dishonesty: Cheating is defined in Webster's College Dictionary as "taking an examination in a dishonest way, as by having improper access to answers." Improper access includes, but is not limited to, copying from another student's paper, copying from the homework solutions manual, or using any unauthorized sources of information while taking an exam or quiz. If the proctor sees a cell phone out during any exam, the proctor will assume that student is cheating and the exam will be taken up and a grade of "F" will be received for the course.

MML Homework (15% of your total grade): Expect to have homework each day. Late homework will not be accepted. Due dates are given in MyMathLab and on the course calendar. All homework must be neat and presented in an orderly manner with the problem running a single column down the left half of the page. You may use the right half of the page for graphs, tables and drawings.
If you are absent, it is your responsibility to complete the assignment according to the calendar.
Remember, LATE HOMEWORK IS NOT ACCEPTED. Calendars and due dates are set at the very first day of the course so you will know what assignments are due at all times.

Reviews (5% of your total grade): Exam reviews can be found in our MyMathLab course.
Major Exams (45% of your total grade): Four major exams will be given and will be completed throughout the course. Exams will be completed outside of class. Due Dates can be found on the course calendar. No late exams will be given, no matter the reason. At the end of the semester, your final exam grade will replace your lowest major exam grades if it is higher. If you know in advance that you will be gone during the assigned exam dates, you can TAKE YOUR EXAM EARLY!
Final Exam (20% of your total grade): At the end of the semester, a comprehensive final will be given. Your final exam grade will replace your lowest exam grade if it is higher. A final exam review can be found in Blackboard. The final exam will be due by 10pm on Wednesday, October 9th.
Attendance: If for some reason you stop working on this course and decide that you do not have time because of other commitments, please remember to officially withdraw “W” from this course. To officially withdraw "W", you must obtain a signed "Withdrawal Approval Form" from me by Noon on 10/1. This signed form must be taken to the registrar in the Student Enrollment Building by Tuesday, October 1, 2024. This is the last date that you can withdraw “W” from this course this semester.
