In order to receive your AC Connect Email, you must log in through AC Connect at https://acconnect.actx.edu .

Expected Student Behavior

In the context of discussions, I expect students to respect each other's opinions and to give each other space to disagree without becoming hostile or angry.  This is important.

Grading Criteria

Your grade for this class will be based on completion of your weekly homework assignments, your weekly discussions, your final quiz, and a field project.  Your final grade will average Homework 20%, discussions 20%, final quiz 40%, and your Special Assignment  20%.   Information and instructions about the field project will be given early in the semester.

Grading Schema

A = 90-100

B = 80-89

C = 70-79

D = 60-69

F = 0-59

Your homework will consist of several questions on the assigned reading for the week.  Your grades on homework will depend on how well you answer the questions. I expect answers to be in complete sentences. There are no right or wrong answers on your discussion questions.  However, in order to get full credit, you'll need to answer the questions and respond to the answers of at least 2 other people.  I want good responses, not just "I agree with you," or "I don't agree with you."  I also expect you to be respectful of each other's opinions in the discussion area.  You can disagree with someone without being disrespectful.  I encourage lively discussion and I expect you to disagree, but you have to be respectful.

Attendance

Students must log into the class and post their work in order to get a grade for the week.

You will complete 7 lessons this semester.  All assignments will be posted at the beginning of the semester so that you can work ahead if you wish.  However, each assignment has a deadline, and your work for that assignment should be posted on or before the deadline.
