The Tutoring for Success policy applies to any student whose grade or performance in the course falls below a departmentally determined minimum threshold. In either of those cases, the instructor will direct the student to the appropriate tutoring service, which may be faculty-led, discipline-specific, and/or general. Under this policy, the instructor will follow specific departmental guidelines governing the use, duration, and grade component of the tutoring need.
Students who do not attend class on or prior to the census date will be administratively dropped. Effective Fall, 2016
Students who wish to withdraw from a course must complete all steps indicated on the Academic Withdrawal Request form by the course withdrawal deadline.
NOTE: Students who are attending Texas institutions of higher education, for the first time fall 2007 and later, may not withdraw from more than six courses during their academic career. This withdrawal limitation does not include dual credit or developmental classes (Senate Bill 1231 Rule 4.10.) Prerequisite: MATH 2414-minimum grade of C
Advanced topics in calculus, including vectors and vector-valued functions, partial differentiation, Lagrange multipliers, multiple integrals and Jacobians; application of the line integral, including Green's Theorem, the Divergence Theorem and Stokes' Theorem.

The hardcopy of textbook is required. HW will be selected from the textbook, if you don't have the book, you may take the picture shot of assigned problems from others' textbook. Some copies of Textbooks are available at Math Outreach Center.
A graphing calculator is required for this course. All classroom demonstrations will be done on the TI-84 Plus CE. Other forms of Texas Instruments or Casio calculators will be permitted at the instructor's discretion. However, the TI-89, TI-92, or TI-Nspire calculators may not be used during exams.
Paper and pencil (not pen please) for taking class notes.

This course is totally Tech Supported. We will meet in Zoom Classroom every Tuesday/Thursday from 12:30 pm. Participating zoom link is provided on left black panel of blackboard's homepage.
Regular class participation and pop-up touch with the blackboard are required and essential. Recorded class video is no way an alternative of class-participation for this in-depth course of Calculus III. This is for sure that consistent class missing must result into failure !! So, prepare accordingly.
Students are expected to behave in the classroom in a manner that is supportive of the learning environment. For a full discussion of appropriate behavior and student responsibilities, please refer to the Student Rights & Responsibilities Handbook which can be accessed using the link above or through the AC Website http://www.actx.edu . Students who fail to comply with the standards outlined in the syllabus and/or Student Rights & Responsibilities will be subject to disciplinary action, which may include, but is not limited to a zero on an assignment or test, an F in the course, or permanent removal from the classroom.
Plagiarism and cheating will not be tolerated in any math course at Amarillo College. On the first day of class, you will be required to sign and date a Course Contract. Included in the contract is the following statement: "I fully understand that if I cheat, or attempt to cheat, on any test, I will receive an automatic "F" in the course. This grade will go on my permanent transcript and cannot be removed. Cheating includes, but is not limited to: the use of a cell phone, notes, notecards, or books during an exam, copying work from another student, or leaving the classroom or Math Testing Center with a test or questions from a test. Cheating also includes helping, or attempting to help, other students cheat on a test". You will not be allowed to take your tests until this contract is signed and on file with your instructor. Please Note: NO CELL PHONES may be used during an exam in class or in the Math Testing Lab. If your phone is out at any time for any reason during while in the Testing Room, you will receive an automatic "F" for the course.
The Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board sets the topics that must be covered in order to receive credit for a course. The instructor sets the pace to ensure that these requirements are met. Any student having trouble maintaining the pace should seek extra help from the instructor and/or a tutor.

Homework:
Daily homework assignments will consist of assignments from the textbook. No acceptance of late homework.
Lab Assignments & Weekly Quizzes:
Students are responsible either to print these assignments from Blackboard to work on them, or to copy the problems responsibly without any mistake to work on a plain sheet of paper. Students will be allowed to work in groups during lab time and will be encouraged to discuss solving techniques to each other. Attendance in lab is mandatory. Lab Assignments and Homework Quizzes will be posted successively at every alternate week on the left sided black-panel of the home page of blackboard in a drop-box. No late submission is possible, as after the deadline, these assignments will be no more available.
Exams:
Three (3) major exams and a mandatory comprehensive final will be given during the semester. Make-up tests will not be given. If an exam is missed, the grade will be replaced with the score you make on the final exam. This policy applies to one exam only. If you miss more than one exam, a grade of zero will be averaged for the other missed exams. If you do not miss any exam during the semester, the grade on the mandatory final exam, if higher, will replace the lowest exam grade.
If you know ahead of time that you will be missing an exam, you may schedule to take the exam early. Only under extenuating, verifiable circumstances and at the discretion of the instructor will an exam be given early.
If you score below a 70 on an exam, you will be required to spend at least one hour receiving help in the Math Outreach Center before you will be allowed to take the next exam.
Daily attendance is required in both lecture and lab.
Note that the last day to drop is Thursday, April 22, 2021. You need to contact your instructor before withdrawing decision, and to take instructor's approval signature on withdrawal request form. Students who stop attending class and do not officially drop will receive a grade of F if their average falls below a 60.
