The Tutoring for Success policy applies to any student whose grade or performance in the course falls below a departmentally determined minimum threshold. In either of those cases, the instructor will direct the student to the appropriate tutoring service, which may be faculty-led, discipline-specific, and/or general. Under this policy, the instructor will follow specific departmental guidelines governing the use, duration, and grade component of the tutoring need.
Students who do not attend class on or prior to the census date will be administratively dropped. Effective Fall, 2016
Students who wish to withdraw from a course must complete all steps indicated on the Academic Withdrawal Request form by the course withdrawal deadline.
NOTE: Students who are attending Texas institutions of higher education, for the first time fall 2007 and later, may not withdraw from more than six courses during their academic career. This withdrawal limitation does not include dual credit or developmental classes (Senate Bill 1231 Rule 4.10.) Science course designed for non-science majors with focus on elementary education science instruction methods and content. Primary emphasis will be fundamental concepts of physics, such as force and motion, sound, waves, momentum and heat. May also include integration with chemistry, geology and astronomy.

Cell phones may not be used as calculators during tests. If you have a calculator please bring it on test days as there are a limited number of calculators available.
Students are expected to work toward accomplishing their academic goals honestly without cheating or plagiarizing. Scholastic dishonesty can have serious consequences. Grades will be based on percentage of points earned as follows:

Grades will be determined using the following percentages:
Lecture will be online and asynchronous. That means you can watch videos and look at lecture notes whenever it is convenient for you.
Lab attendance is required. There will be no makeup labs. One low lab grade will be dropped. There may be some labs that can be done virtually at home.
A midterm exam and a final exam will be given during your lab period. You are expected to take those two exams in person on your assigned date. If there is a problem please visit with your instructor as soon as possible.
Course notes and assignments will be posted on Blackboard. Please keep up with the calendar so you can be successful in the course.

HOMEWORK (online) - Conceptual Academy will be used for homework assignments. Conceptual Academy is a web site where you will log in to view videos, take reading "quizzes", and answer homework questions. Conceptual Academy assignment due dates are given below. Your grade will be the percentage of 500 points you earn spread out among all chapters covered.
