Amarillo College Tutoring for Success Policy:

The Tutoring for Success policy applies to any student whose grade or performance in the course falls below a departmentally determined minimum threshold. In either of those cases, the instructor will direct the student to the appropriate tutoring service, which may be faculty-led, discipline-specific, and/or general. Under this policy, the instructor will follow specific departmental guidelines governing the use, duration, and grade component of the tutoring need.

Administrative Drop Policy

Students who do not attend class on or prior to the census date will be administratively dropped. Effective Fall, 2016

Student Withdrawal Procedures

Students who wish to withdraw from a course must complete all steps indicated on the Academic Withdrawal Request form by the course withdrawal deadline.

NOTE: Students who are attending Texas institutions of higher education, for the first time fall 2007 and later, may not withdraw from more than six courses during their academic career. This withdrawal limitation does not include dual credit or developmental classes (Senate Bill 1231 Rule 4.10.) Prerequisites

Course Description

Students learn the basics of the Microstation software. Become familiar with the user interface; set up a work space and views for a 2D drawing; use 2D drawing and editing commands; apply patterns, dimensions and text to a drawing; and learn basics of file management and plotting.

1 - Create a new file from a seed file in the WorkPage interface. 

2 - Explore the application interface and basic settings using the new WorkSpace WorkSet feature.

3 - Plot a scaled drawing.

4 - Create and modify unit settings.

5 - Input coordinates by absolute, relative rectangular, and relative polar options.

6 - Create 2d linear and shape elements.

7 - Set up levels to control entity properties and display.

8 - Use element snaps for entity creation and editing.

9 - Use view control tools to manipulate the applications view windows.

10 - Use 2d editing and manipulation tools to modify existing entities.

11 - Create text styles to manage text settings.

12 - Create and edit text entities.

13 - Use the AccuDraw tool for precision coordinate entry.

14 - Create hatches and patterns using existing entities as defining borders.

15 - Create dimension styles to manage dimension settings.

16 - Create and modify entity dimensions.

It is the responsibility of the student to initiate drop or withdrawal procedures. Students who stop attending class but do not officially drop or withdraw from this course will receive a letter grade at the end of the semester.

Any student who, because of a disabling condition, may require some special arrangements in order to meet course requirements should contact the Student Service Center room 119, phone 371-5436 as soon as possible.

ASSIGNMENTS: Class assignments, and announcements on due dates and exam will appear on the AC Connect Website in Blackboard. You have an email tool there you can use to contact me and assignment drop boxes to send the documents.

A final exam will be due at the last class meeting. 

Attendance

Students are expected to attend all regularly scheduled class meetings. If a class is missed, it is the student's responsibility to let the instructor know to make other arrangements for the assignment.
