The Tutoring for Success policy applies to any student whose grade or performance in the course falls below a departmentally determined minimum threshold. In either of those cases, the instructor will direct the student to the appropriate tutoring service, which may be faculty-led, discipline-specific, and/or general. Under this policy, the instructor will follow specific departmental guidelines governing the use, duration, and grade component of the tutoring need.

Students who wish to withdraw from a course must complete all steps indicated on the Academic Withdrawal Request form by the course withdrawal deadline.

GRADING CRITERIA:
Video Quizzes= 20 points each = 20% There is a video quiz for each week to complete. You will watch the video over an important concept for each stage of development and then answer 5 questions about the video.
Chapter Quizzes= 100 points each = 20% Each Chapter in Pearson REVEL will have a quiz with 10 questions. These quizzes will help prepare you for the Unit Exams.
Virtual Child Project= 100 points = 30% You are to "create" a child and raise the child in this project. This software program will take you from birth through age 18. There are decisions you will make for your child at each age and use the knowledge you are gaining as you progress through the course. This is a large portion of your grade, so it is very important to complete the assignment with well thought out answers, answering ALL parts of the question.
Unit Exams= 500 points maximum (100 points each) = 30% There will be five unit exams covering the text material and weekly assignments on developmental stages. Exams will be comprehensive in nature possibly consisting of multiple choice, true false, matching, short answer, and/or essay questions. All exams will be administered in Blackboard. The test is not timed. Please be sure you have prepared and have allowed yourself time and privacy when you start the test with a solid internet connection. You will be more successful with planning and preparation. Please know that your preparation for each exam will help you make the most of your time in the midst of the test.
