Lectures and demos are available online to successfully complete the course. When possible classes will meet outside at various locations; students are responsible for their own transportation. All in-person activities are optional.
To earn full credit projects must be submitted by the due date.

Calendar: All relevant course information will be listed on the calendar. Students should check the calendar for the lectures, activities, due dates and other important information. The calendar will be updated to reflect changes to the schedule.
Email: I check email in the morning and then later in the day. Students should expect a response within 24 hours. I do not regularly check email on the weekends but will respond as soon as possible.

Office Hours: My Zoom account will be available: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/2409054844. After the first person, a waiting room will be enabled so that students are not interrupted. Zoom meetings may also be scheduled for questions, discussions, and tutoring.
Civility
Disruptions and/or any behavior that the instructor considers inappropriate will not be tolerated and will result in dismissal from the class. Every student deserves and will receive the respect of others. Every student is expected to be involved and engaged with other students and the instructor.
Classroom Responsibility
Students must clean up their workspace and pick up all the materials leaving class.
Plagiarism
The student understands that plagiarism will not be tolerated in this class. Plagiarism is defined by the Amarillo College Student Handbook as: “...the appropriating, buying, receiving as a gift, or obtaining by any means another’s work and the unacknowledged submission or incorporation of it in one’s own written work.” This also includes copying Internet or written sources in any course project/exercise without citing the source, as well as copying another student’s work as your own work. If a student is found plagiarizing any material in the course, it will result in a grade of "0" for that project/exercise and can result in disciplinary action and expulsion of the student from the course.
Course Content
Students understand that in the study of art styles and art history that occasionally there may be a tasteful representation of a nude (such as in Greek Classical Art), and agree to handle that content in a mature and responsible way.
Copyright Notice
Students must be aware and responsible for the Copyright Notice for the course: The materials on this course website are only for the use of students enrolled in this course for the purposes associated with this course and may not be retained or further disseminated.
College Disability Statement
Any student who because of a disabling condition, may require some special arrangements in order to meet course requirements should contact Disability Services (SSC 119, Phone: 371-5436) as soon as possible.
Drop Policy
Should the need arise; the student is responsible for dropping a course. See the Amarillo College master calendar on the AC website and the course calendar for the date of the last day to drop a course.
Exam Policy There are two exams and no quizzes. The midterm exam covers material from the lectures and class content on Blackboard, slide presentations, and demonstrations learned in the first eight weeks of the semester. The final exam is comprehensive. Both exams are available on AC Connect and are open for at least a week prior to the due date. Students may take exams twice and the lowest score is dropped. The midterm exam is due on the Sunday evening before the midterm break at 11 pm. The final exam is due by 11 pm on the first class day of final's week.
Make-up Exam Policy Both exams are available online for a week. In order to be fair to students who take exams as scheduled, failure to take tests by 11 pm on the last scheduled date will result in a zero for that exam score. Exams are available online; this provides students with flexibility to work it into their schedule. There are no make-up exams.
Homework Policy Students will watch most lectures online and should be prepared for Q&A at the start of class. Although some open lab time is scheduled during class, successful completion of this course will require work outside of class. To earn full credit for projects students must have exercises and portfolios completed at the start of class on the scheduled due date.
Lab Policy
Only students currently enrolled in classes are allowed to use the labs. Do not invite friends and family into the labs. The computer labs, darkrooms, and studios require students be enrolled in a course, or have taken specific courses, before using those areas. Students must clean up their workspace and pick up all the materials leaving class.
Working Outside
Because of social distancing guidelines we cannot work inside as an entire class and will have to work in smaller assigned groups. For this reason, the entire class will work outside on projects together as the weather permits. Please email me if you have disabilities or other reasons that would make this challenging for you, and I will select locations based on those needs. It may be warm outside and students should always bring water to drink and a folding chair if desired.
