The Tutoring for Success policy applies to any student whose grade or performance in the course falls below a departmentally determined minimum threshold. In either of those cases, the instructor will direct the student to the appropriate tutoring service, which may be faculty-led, discipline-specific, and/or general. Under this policy, the instructor will follow specific departmental guidelines governing the use, duration, and grade component of the tutoring need.

Students who wish to withdraw from a course must complete all steps indicated on the Academic Withdrawal Request form by the course withdrawal deadline.

All assignments must be done on Blackboard. A computer with internet access is necessary. Assignments can be done at home. However, if you do not have access to the internet at home, there are computers on the main campus on Washington St., and on the West Campus in building B or D. The Midterm exam and Final exam will be taken in the West Campus Success Center within the 72 hours window posted in BlackBoard. Other arrangements are a possibility.
The first submission of an assignment must be completed by 1159pm Sunday, 2/13 to be counted as attending this course.
LATE ASSIGNMENTS: There will be a 15 pt. deduction for assignments submitted past the due date. If your assignment has not been submitted within 72 hours of the posted due date, you will receive a 0 for that grade.

There is a census taken after few days of class. As previously mentioned, students must have completed and submitted a quiz or an assignment by 1159PM Sunday, 2/13 to be counted as "attending" this online class.
This course is worth 4 credit hours. That means if we were scheduled as an in-class course, you would be spending 6 to 8 hours per week in the classroom. Therefore, completing all expectations in each unit will take AT LEAST 6-8 hours a week. You should log in at least twice a week to stay caught up with assignments.
The Units are scheduled for one each week. However, you may work ahead if you choose to.
SPRING 2022
Students are expected to complete assignments in Blackboard, Google Drive, and in the NHA Medical Terminology learning system. Due dates should be posted clearly. If there are any issues with keeping to the designated time-line, please contact Michele Rupe.
All assignment for each unit 1 - 5 are due by 1159pm on SUNDAY of the week that specific week. Units 6 - 10 will be due by 1159PM Tuesday of the assigned week.
LATE ASSIGNMENTS: There is a grace period for late assignments to be accepted. Late assignments will have a 15 pt. deduction if turned in within 72 hours of the due date. After the 3rd day, the grade will become a 0 for that assignment.

Supplemental study materials and assistance are available for all students, as well as support for some personal needs. As of this semester, Amarillo College has adopted a TUTORING FOR SUCCESS policy. If you are not meeting the expectation of meeting due dates, and your overall grade is below 70% you may be asked to spend time in the Success Center in building B on the West Campus.
This extra time is to help ensure student success in this fast paced-course. The West Campus Success Center is located in WCB112. They will be open from 8am to 530pm Monday through Thursday.
