The Tutoring for Success policy applies to any student whose grade or performance in the course falls below a departmentally determined minimum threshold. In either of those cases, the instructor will direct the student to the appropriate tutoring service, which may be faculty-led, discipline-specific, and/or general. Under this policy, the instructor will follow specific departmental guidelines governing the use, duration, and grade component of the tutoring need.
Students who do not attend class on or prior to the census date will be administratively dropped. Effective Fall, 2016
Students who wish to withdraw from a course must complete all steps indicated on the Academic Withdrawal Request form by the course withdrawal deadline.
NOTE: Students who are attending Texas institutions of higher education, for the first time fall 2007 and later, may not withdraw from more than six courses during their academic career. The digital editions of the books are available in two forms; a web version and a e-reader downloadable version. I highly recommend purchasing the web version as it is much easier to access. If you choose to download the epub to your computer, in order to read the e-manuals, you must install an e-pub reader on your computer. When you go to the AMS bookstore to download your manual, you will see a link there to Adobe for a free reader. It will greatly simplify the download of the manual if you install the reader first.
You must have the Weather Studies Textbook and the 2021-2022 Investigations Manual in order to successfully complete this course.
This course will cover the structure and composition of the atmosphere, data measurement and analysis, factors that impact weather phenomena, and how weather's impact on humans.

The Final grade will be composed of:

The 2 lowest Investigations and 1 lowest exam score will be dropped. The drop grades are taken into account from the start of the semester, so the grade that shows as your overall average has the lowest grades already dropped.
The overall course grade will be according to the following percentages:
A 90 - 100 %
B 80 - 89.99 %
C 70 - 79.99 %
D 60 - 69.99 %
F - Below 60 %
There will be no extra credit assignments. If you have a question about a grade, you have two weeks from the date that the grade is posted to ask for a review. After that two weeks the grade will be permanent.
If you have not completed any assignments or contacted the instructor by the 12th class day of the semester (Jan. 31), you will automatically be dropped from the course and will not be able to re-enroll.
The last day to drop the course is April 18. It is your responsibility to monitor your grade and determine if you need to drop. You must initiate the drop process by contacting your instructor.
