The Tutoring for Success policy applies to any student whose grade or performance in the course falls below a departmentally determined minimum threshold. In either of those cases, the instructor will direct the student to the appropriate tutoring service, which may be faculty-led, discipline-specific, and/or general. Under this policy, the instructor will follow specific departmental guidelines governing the use, duration, and grade component of the tutoring need.
Students who do not attend class on or prior to the census date will be administratively dropped. Effective Fall, 2016
Students who wish to withdraw from a course must complete all steps indicated on the Academic Withdrawal Request form by the course withdrawal deadline.
NOTE: Students who are attending Texas institutions of higher education, for the first time fall 2007 and later, may not withdraw from more than six courses during their academic career. ENER-1330-002 Basic Mechanical Skills for Energy
Basic mechanical skills using hand and power tools in an industrial environment. Topics include tool use and maintenance, lubrication, measuring, threads and fasteners, bench works, basic mechanical drawings, and basic shop calculations (English and metric). Also addresses introductory rigging procedures to include chain falls, jacks, cable, fulcrum, port-a-power, and come-alongs.

Students are required to attend all classes unless there is a medical or family emergency. Your instructor should be notified before class starts in case of an emergency. If your instructor is not notified late work will not be accepted. You should be on time and prepared for class.
Additional Information:
All homework assignments are due the next class period. Late assignments will be scored accordingly and will not exceed 50% of the designated grade. Project work (hands on) may be made up during regular lab times but will be scored accordingly and will not exceed 50% of the designated grade. There is no make-up fo class exercises or lectures
To earn credit for this course, all students must score 75% or greater on the final exam. It is possible to pass all other assignments and fail the final exam and not complete the course for credit.
