The Tutoring for Success policy applies to any student whose grade or performance in the course falls below a departmentally determined minimum threshold. In either of those cases, the instructor will direct the student to the appropriate tutoring service, which may be faculty-led, discipline-specific, and/or general. Under this policy, the instructor will follow specific departmental guidelines governing the use, duration, and grade component of the tutoring need.

Students who wish to withdraw from a course must complete all steps indicated on the Academic Withdrawal Request form by the course withdrawal deadline.

This course is an introduction to client-side scripting for the Web using JavaScript.
After studying the material presented in this course of study, the student will be able to find, select, and incorporate pre-written JavaScript scripts into a web site and customize those pre-written scripts as needed. This outcome will be accomplished by the student becoming acquainted with the following:
Incorporate JavaScript into web pages.
Work with JavaScript variables and data types and learn how to use the operations that can be performed on them.
Trace and resolve errors in JavaScript programs.
Add functions, methods, events, and objects to your JavaScript programs.
Apply control structures to scripts – including comparisons, conditions, and loops.
Use JavaScript to make sure data was entered properly into form fields and to perform other type of preprocessing before form data is sent to a server.
Manipulate data in strings and arrays.
Save state information using query strings, local storage, and/or cookies.
Add interactivity to your Web pages using the Document Object Model (DOM) with jQuery
Write JavaScript code that controls the Web browser through the browser object model (BOM).
Incorporate various APIs into scripts.

Course grades will be assigned based upon the following criteria:
Each weekly lab assignments are due on at their posted due date. Half credit is given if lab OR lab prep assignments are turned in after the due date has passed (maximum score of 50 points). Quizzes and exams may be made up only in emergency situations

All work found in the Introduction folder of the course MUST be completed during the first week of class in order to be marked present and not administratively dropped from the class.
