Grading Criteria

The following criteria will be used to determine your grade:

Passing course grade: 75% or higher

No late assignments will be accepted for this course

Rationale: The National Council Licensure Examination for RNs (NCLEX-RN) has become harder, to reflect the need for nurses who have a high level of critical thinking and clinical reasoning skills. The increase in patient acuity and nursing responsibilities is placing greater demand on current entry-level nurses in comparison to their cohorts in the past. The National Council for State Boards of Nursing (NCSBN) prepares the NCLEX-RN and establishes the minimum passing standard.

The Grading scale for RNSG 1216 is:

A = 90-100%

B = 80-89%

C = 75-79%*

D = 60-74%

F = below 60%

Required graded assignments and Final Course Grades are NOT rounded:

For example: If your average is 74.98 then with NO rounding, your average is a D. If your average is 89.98, with NO rounding your average is a B. If a case study or quiz is 79.85, it is recorded as a 79.85.

The final grade will consist of 4 Module exams, the ATI Fundamentals Specialty Exam, ATI lesson quiz average, and a Comprehensive Final exam.
 All tutoring and remediation requirements must be completed in order for students to take the Comprehensive Final exam.

Exams:

Module I Exam                                                20%
Module II Exam                                               20%
Module III Exam                                              20%
Dosage and Calculations Exam                       7.5%
Dosage and Calculations Assignments           2.5%
ATI Fundamentals Specialty Exam                 10%
Medication Check-offs                                    10%

Skills Check-offs                                              10%

 TOTAL:                                                            100%
