Tutoring for Success applies to any student whose overall performance in the course falls below 75%. The instructor will create the task in the Student Engagement Portal (Watermark) to direct the student to the appropriate tutoring service, which may be faculty- or SI-led, discipline-specific, and/or general. The tutoring service assigned, the due date for when the tutoring must be completed, and the amount of tutoring required are at the discretion of the instructor. Additionally, the task will alert the student’s success team. Students who do not fulfill the assigned tutoring task may be subject to program- and course-specific penalties that could result in a grade reduction and/or in not being allowed to progress in the course until the tutoring requirement has been satisfied.

Students who wish to withdraw from a course must complete all steps indicated on the Academic Withdrawal Request form by the course withdrawal deadline.

It is your responsibility to complete each assignment on the scheduled due dates.

Semester Project: 60%
Chapter Website Case Study Assignments: The Chapter Website Case Study Assignments will be the JavaJam Coffee Bar Case Study at the end of each chapter. These can be found in the Summary section for each appropriate chapter. These Website Case Study Assignments will be vital for you to complete your Semester Project. They start in Week 1 and build each week. It is critical that you not skip your weekly Chapter Website Case Study Assignments. They are due at the end of class each Week. Each following Week, you will correct your code in class in preparation for the case study due that week.
You will also have a Casita: Fix Broken Website assignment that is included in this grading category. You will download and extract the files to your computer. To get to the instructions, you will open the index.html file in a browser. This assignment will be completed in class.
We will also take chapter quizzes in class to assess your coding skills and understanding.
Semester Project: Your project is worth 60% of your semester grade. The topic of your web site must be approved by your instructor.
Purpose: To design, develop, and publish a web site using recommended design practices.
Graded: Your project will be broken down into one Reflection Assignment, four Phases, and one Final Phase. Each Phase is worth the following point values:
This will be worth 5-100’s to be averaged and weighted at 60% of your final grade.
Mandatory Tutoring: If you fail the Chapter 3 Website Case Study, you will be required to attend mandatory tutoring before allowing to continue your work with the Case Study or Semester Project.
