It’s a great time to be involved in technical education! The number of job opportunities for our students continue to rise with both legacy employers in the area, as well as new employers choosing to relocate to Amarillo. Even better - the demand for skilled workers among employers is causing wages to rise as companies compete for talent. This is great news for Tech Ed students! Students are landing great jobs with great pay before they finish their programs.

Did you know students who earn an associate’s degree from Amarillo College see an average return rate of 25% for their investment? This translates to a return of $4.50 in future earnings for every dollar students invest in their education. This investment impacts our region with our graduates supporting one out of every 22 jobs regionally. Through 2028, Amarillo’s workforce is projected to grow 16.79% across industries annually.

It seems like every time you hear about something healthy it often involves soy, but did you know you can also make comfort foods with soy? In honor of National Soy Foods Month, I thought I'd share one of my favorite comfort food recipes with you.

Tips: We like to pair ours with sticky rice when we are eating this as just the meal, but you can pair it as a side with whatever meal you're making. According to a recent Korn Ferry study, employee stress levels have increased almost 20 percent in the last thirty years. And, stress decreases motivation, interest and energy.

The Amarillo and Texas Panhandle could see severe weather since spring has arrived. There is no official start of severe weather in the Texas Panhandle. Severe weather can occur at any time during the year, so it is a good idea to be prepared. The Amarillo College Police Department and Emergency Management want to remind you of a few things you can do when severe weather presents itself.
