MATH 1350- Section#

EXAMPLE:

Instructor MItchell,
I am stuck on question number 13 on section 9.4 MyMathLab assignment. I have attached a picture of the original problem and a picture of my attempted work. Can you give me guidance on how to proceed from here or let me know why my answer is not coming out correct? I have viewed the "view example" but seem to be missing something because MyMathLab is not accepting my answer.

Karla Romas
MATH 1350-001

You must use this format when emailing your instructor for this course.
A generate responce of
" Please refer to the syllabus under Expected Student Behavor for the required emailing format."
will be sent if your emails are not formated as required above.

Grading Criteria

Lecture Notes:  Prior to attending the scheduled class each day, students will be required to watch lecture videos and complete guided notes printed from Blackboard.  The notes will be submitted for completion grade at the end of every chapter.  Students who have made photo copies of another students notes will not receive credit.  Grading will be as follows:  fully completed notes - 100, incomplete notes - 50, no notes or blank notes - 0.

Online Homework:  All homework will be completed online using the MyMathLab website.  Help buttons will be available for each problem in MyMathLab, and you may rework problems multiple times until you get the correct answer.  Due dates will be posted on the class calendar in Blackboard and also on the MyMathLab website direct next to each assignment.  Though this homework will be submitted online, I strongly recommend that you keep an organized log of written work to accomplany each homework assignment to better learn the process of solving problems.

Online Test Reviews:  Reviews will be assigned on MyMathLab before each major exam.  Each review functions as a practice exam.  Expect your grade on the exam to be similar to your grade on the review.  Keep in mind that you may work the review problems multiple times to keep improving your grade and to better prepare for the exam. You must score at least a 65% on the review before you are allowed access to the exam.

Exams:  Five unit exams will be given on MyMathLab.  Due dates are posted in the class calendar in Blackboard and also on MyMathLab.  If you score below a 70 on any unit exam, you will be required to complete one hour of tutoring before taking the next exam.  This will be completed online at https://www.actx.edu/successcenters/.

Low Exam Retake:  At the end of the semester, if your average is less than 70 or you did not complete a unit exam, you will be required to retake your lowest unit exam on MyMathLab.  If your average is higher than 70 but you wish to improve your grade, you will also be given the opportunity to retake your lowest exam on MyMathLab.  However, if your average is 70 or above AND you are content with your grade, you will not be required to retake any unit exam.

Extra Credit/Late Work: Late work will not be accepted. By keeping an organized notebook you can recieve 10 points on your lowest exam.

Notebook Rubric for Extra Credit:

The notebook will be checked for the awarded extra credit points on Tuesday March 9th by 11:59pm.
Notebook credit is ALL or None. Either you do it 100% or you recieve no extra credit.

Math 1314 and Math 0314 are linked together and known as a co-requisite pairing.  Successful completion of both courses is essential.  One course cannot be dropped without dropping both which might have serious financial aid consequences.  To earn credit, you must pass with a “C” or better average in both courses.  Each of the two classes will have course specific requirements; however, because Math 0314 and Math 1314 are fully integrated major test grades from Math 1314, including the conditional final, will count in both course gradebooks.

Grading Policy:  Your grade (90-100% A, 80-89% B, 70-79% C, 60-69% D, less than 60 F) will be determined using the following weights:

Attendance:  Regular attendance is necessary for satisfactory achievement and IS PART OF YOUR GRADE. Therefore, it is the responsibility of the student to attend class and be on time for daily attendance check.  Nonattendance will be recorded as an absence and no differentiation will be made as to excused or unexcused absences.  Students who miss the daily roll call or leave early without permission will be marked absent for the day. If you are absent for any reason, YOU are responsible for obtaining the assignments and notes from a peer.  If for some reason you stop working on this course and decide that you do not have time because of other commitments, please remember to officially withdraw “W” from this course.  To officially withdraw "W", you must visit with your professor personally and obtain a signed "Withdrawal Approval Form".  This signed form must be taken to the Ask AC desk in the Student Services Building by  Tuesday, March 2nd.  This is the last date that you can withdraw “W” from this course this semester.
