If you’re wondering where all the news and information has been, we have been working hard with IT and Marketing to create a new experience and portal for you to get the latest word on what is going on around the college.
Why a Blog?
When looking at different options to inform our AC Family on happenings, events, and stories, we wanted an option that was easy to access and always visible. The blog is a site that you can access 24/7. The nature of the old newsletters didn’t allow for that. If you accidentally deleted or lost the email or links to specific stories, then it was hard, if not impossible, to know where to go to find information. This way, you can view the information whenever you want, without worry about losing an email or wondering where it went. The blog will be up all the time, so you can access it when it is convenient for you.
Additionally, we were looking for something that was more versatile. We wanted the ability to be able to add and expand different options and sections at different times as well as the ability to change things or update things on the fly. With the newsletter, once things were out, it was difficult to change anything.
Finally, we wanted more visual appeal. As great as the newsletter was for content, we also wanted to make the site visually appealing so our AC family would want to visit the blog more often. We want it to be the go-to place for news and information for staff and faculty. As we continue to tweak and grow it, we hope that it will be THE place where our teammates will go to learn more about what’s going on at Amarillo College for our awesome people.
