Bruce Beck Memorial Conference
The AC TEACH Club, a student association for education majors, will host a conference named in honor of the late Bruce Beck, longtime reporter at the Amarillo Globe-News. The event is from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at AC’s Downtown Campus and will focus on success for all students, technology in the classroom, and fostering a growth mindset. It will be highlighted by a keynote speech from Shanna Peoples, National Teacher of the Year, also a former Globe-News reporter, who teaches at Palo Duro High School in Amarillo. The conference is for educators from Pre-K to 12th grade and more than 100 are expected to attend. AC students can attend for free, and the cost is $30 for others.
