Melanie was born in Virginia and grew up in the Chicago area.
She considers that all communication is vital, including speech. "Without communication, people cease to exist for others, the meaning is no longer shared, and every human soul becomes an island." Her goal with her students is to guide them to a more polished level of speaking and give them techniques to convert anxiety to energy when giving a presentation.
She attended West Texas A&M University for her undergrad and also for her M.A. in Speech Communication with a concentration in Management.
Melanie is currently obsessed with podcasts. She is also heavily involved in the Amarillo Little Theatre and enjoys writing creatively in her free time. Her favorite shows are Frasier, Masterpiece, and Black-ish.
