Printing from Colleague

Printing from Colleague is now done via the browser's native print function. You can export to excel or print to PDF. There are just a few requisite steps needed for Printing to PDF, the first being make sure you are printing your pdf from Adobe Acrobat or Adobe Acrobat Reader.

Steps to make Acrobat Reader DC or Acrobat DC your default PDF program:

  1. Right-click the thumbnail of a PDF file, and then choose Properties.
  2. In the file's Properties dialog box, click Change.
  3. Do one of the following:
    1. If you have Acrobat DC or both Acrobat DC and Acrobat Reader DC, choose Adobe Acrobat DC and click OK.
    2. If you have only Acrobat Reader DC, choose Adobe Acrobat Reader DC and click OK.
  4. In the Properties dialog box, click OK.

Now, the PDF files open in Acrobat Reader DC or Acrobat DC.

Printing a screen with Export PDF Button

Before you get to your screen you may see a dropdown menu titled "Output Device". This is defaulted to "P" for Print Spooler. Output 1

Change that to "H" Hold/Browse File Output

Scroll down on that screen till you see “Page Width”. Set it to a larger number than the default. Try 180. This number will vary based on screen. The default is 132.

Continue on to your next screens until you have saved your output file.

Locate the Export PDF button on the screen you want to print

Change the font size to "8" to allow for the best formatting of your document, but this may vary depending on the screen and your preference. In this step you also have options for portrait or landscape, font and paper type. All these options will have to be set each time you export.

Click the blue "Download" button. Open the downloaded file by doubleclicking it. You should see the file in Adobe Acrobat if you have changed the default viewer per the above instructions.

Then print that file as you would any other file.
