Mass Media Certificate
Students completing the Mass Media Certificate will be prepared to enter the workforce directly or continue their educations and complete an Associate of Applied Science Degree. Students choose from three emphasis options: Online Marketing, Mass Media Production or Recording Arts.
The Online Marketing Option provides comprehensive training in advanced social media and online marketing. In about a year, students will gain in-depth exposure to all aspects of Internet marketing, social media, web design and more. Courses in advertising, public relations and writing for electronic media round out this versatile certificate. Students will graduate from Amarillo College with a working knowledge of best practices in online marketing.
The Mass Media Production Certificate prepares graduates for positions involving audio The Mass Media Recording Arts Certificate prepares students to create, record, edit, and mix high-quality music or sound for film/TV or live events using Pro Tools, the industry-standard audio production platform. All aspects of sound engineering are covered and students gain hands-on experience in professional video production studios with live web-streaming, audio-editing and broadcast facilities and state-of-the-art computer labs. Graduates go on to work in a wide variety of settings--from broadcasting to coordinating live event audio at entertainment venues and places of worship to mixing and mastering recorded music.
