  • Students must have a photo ID to take a test. AC student ID is preferred, including the AC virtual ID. 

Science Testing Center RULES

  1. I understand that if I cheat or attempt to cheat on any test, the testing center supervisor will investigate and refer the suspected cheating incident to my instructor and the VP of Student Affairs recommending that I receive an automatic F in the course. 
  2. I understand the cell phone policy:
    • cell phones, smart watches, or any other electronic devices are NOT allowed in the testing room at any time if taking a written test.
    • a cell phone will be required for the DUO Verification for online tests. The phone must be on silent to log in and then turned OFF and placed in the stand.
    • If any unapproved material or devices are seen AT ANY TIME, FOR ANY REASON (other than used to log in with DUO), while in the testing room, your testing will be stopped and may result in an F for the course.
  3. Cell phones/Smart phones, watches placed on the bookshelf must be turned OFF: not vibrate or silent.
  4. Books, personal items, watches, devices, drinks, and snacks must be placed on the bookshelf BEFORE you take your test. Amarillo College is not responsible for lost or stolen items. Items are better left at home or at another safe location.
  5. I understand appointments are required to take a test and that tests will be taken outside of class time, except for the final exam.
  6. I understand if I score below a 75% in my course, I must complete a mandatory tutoring session with my instructor or the Science Academic Success Center before requesting the next exam (excluding the Final Exams week).
  7. I understand a PICTURE ID IS REQUIRED to take a test. An AC ID card is preferred, but we will accept a current driver’s license, the AC virtual ID, or any id with a picture and name. 
  8. I understand that my testing session begins when the proctor enters the password for online tests or hands me my paper test. After I begin my test, I cannot leave the STC for any reason, even for bathroom breaks.
  9. I understand that I must abide by the AC Student Code of Conduct while in the testing center.
  10. The testing center follows the test instructions provided by your instructor. 
  11. If you have accommodations, please speak with STC proctors or supervisor BEFORE you first test because we cannot provide the accommodations.

Appointment Required

An appointment is required to test in the testing center.

Hours

  • Monday - Thursday: 8am - 9pm (last appointment at 7:15 pm)
  • Friday: 8am - 8pm (last appointment at 6:15 pm)
  • Saturday: 9am - 8pm (last appointment at 6:15 pm)
  • Sunday: Closed

Please Note: 

  • No test will be given out less than 90 minutes before the Science Testing Center stops the testing procedure.
  • All tests will be collected 15 minutes before the center closes.
  • There is a 15-minute window after the last appointment time for a student to arrive for a test.
  • Be advised that if the student chooses the last appointment slot and/or to arrive late for their appointment, they will have less than 90 minutes in which to test.

Angela has a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the University of Texas at Arlington. She was a science teacher for nine years before joining ACs Science Academic Success Center.
