Visual Effects

Students who complete one year will earn VFX Level One Certificate.

Semester One (Fall)

  • FLMC 1301-001 History of Animation (Introduction to Visual and Special Effects)  (Fall I, 8 weeks)
  • FLMC 1331-001 Video Graphics and Visual Effects (2D Animation and Key Framing)  (Fall I, 8 weeks)
  • ARTV 1341-002 3-D Animation I VFX Cohort (Digital Compositing I)  (Fall I, 8 weeks)
  • ARTV 1345-002 3D Modeling and Rendering VFX Cohort (Fall II, 8 weeks)
  • FLMC 1304 -001 Lighting for Film or Video (Lighting and Rendering)  (Fall II, 8 weeks)

Semester Two (Spring)

  • ARTV 2345 3-D Modeling and Rendering II (Texturing & Look Development I)  (Spring I, 8 weeks)
  • ARTV 2455 Character Rigging and Animation (3D Rigging for Production)  (Spring I, 8 weeks) 
  • FLMC 2331 Video Graphics and Visual Effects II (Digital Compositing II)  (Spring II, 8 weeks)
  • ARTV 2351 3D Animation II  (Spring II, 8 weeks)
  • ARTV 2335 Portfolio Development for Animation-VFX Cohort (VFX Thesis I - Preproduction and Principal Photography / Demo Reel)  (Spring II, 8 weeks)

Students who complete two years will earn VFX AAS

Semester Three (Fall)

  • FFLMC 1391 Special Topics in Film –VFX Cohort  (Fall I, 8 weeks)
  • FLMC 2310 Film Style Production-VFX Cohort (On-set production) (Fall I, 8 weeks)
  • ARTV 2341 Advanced Digital Video (CG Cameras - Match-moving, 2D, 3D Tracking)  (Fall II, 8 weeks)
  • GAME 2336 Lighting, shading and texture (Texturing and Look Development II)  (Fall II, 8 weeks)
  • MATH from approved list  (Fall II, 8 weeks)

Semester Four (Spring)

  • FLMC 1392 Special Topics in Film-VFX Cohort (VFX Thesis II - Post-Production); VFX Capstone - Preproduction, Production, Post Production  (16 weeks)
  • ENGL 1301  (Spring I or II, 8 weeks)
  • SPCH from approved list
