Amarillo College is putting students on the fast track to good-paying careers in welding. AC’s six-month Welding option starts with courses in machine shop math, technical communication, shop practices and blueprint reading – all of which lead to an advanced certificate in Welding. AC also offers an advanced certificate spread over a longer period of time, but either way it’s a credential that qualifies professional welders for employment in a great variety of industries.

What can you do with a Welding degree or certificate?

Welders make and repair a wide range of things, from automobiles and fences to ships and refineries. They join beams for buildings and bridges. Cutters trim metal objects into specific dimensions from blueprints and dismantle large objects. Employment can be found in small repair shops all the way to industrial factories, locally, nationally and across the globe.
