AC Recognizes  Outstanding Academic Achievements at Honors Convocation 

Each spring, Amarillo College recognizes its most outstanding students at a formal and celebratory Honors Convocation, which this year will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 13 at the Amarillo Civic Center.

The College commends and congratulates the following students for their significant academic achievements.

Academic Excellence Awards

These students represent the top 1% of the overall College enrollment by maintaining a 4.0 grade point average (straight “A” average), with 18 or more hours, during their enrollment at Amarillo College.

Alpha Beta Gamma International Business Honor Society

The members of this national Business honor society must maintain a 3.6 grade point average in a business major.

Lambda Beta Honor Society

Lambda Beta Society is a national honor society sponsored and maintained by the National Board for Respiratory Care. Lambda Beta recognizes the top 25% of Respiratory Care students during their second year of the program.

Scholarships are awarded to the top 10% and 15% of area high school graduating classes, and students must maintain a 3.5 or 3.0 grade point average (respectively) during their enrollment at Amarillo College.

Stem Scholars

STEM Scholars is a program for first-and second-year students at Amarillo College (Washington campus) who are majoring in a STEM field (science, technology, engineering, and math) and plan to transfer to receive a bachelor's degree at a four-year institution.
