AC to Host ‘Losing Your Religion (or Not)?’ as Part of Chautauqua Series

Amarillo College invites the community to its next Chautauqua: Conversations About Be-ing Human event, “Losing Your Religion (or Not)?,” from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 19 in the Oak Room in the College Union Building on Amarillo College's Washington Street Campus.

This thought-provoking discussion will explore the evolving role of faith in a rapidly changing world—how people are questioning, reshaping, or reaffirming their beliefs in the face of modern culture, community, and technology.

Panelists include:

  • Jason Boyett, author of 12 Major World Religions and Amarillo College alumnus
  • Donna Dorman, Extension Agent for Community & Economic Development, Prairie View A&M University
  • Brady Clark, Executive Director, Square Mile Community Development
  • Adam Gray, Chaplain and Spiritual Director, Innerwell

Before the session begins, AC’s Music Department will present a live musical prelude. The event will feature presentations, open discussion, and refreshments. Admission is free and open to the public.

The event is made possible with generous support from the Amarillo College Foundation.

“The Chautauqua series gives our community a space to wrestle with big questions,” said Dr. Robert Fulton, Chautauqua coordinator and associate professor of humanities. “This session in particular asks how belief systems adapt—or don’t—amid shifting technologies, identities, and values.”

The Chautauqua: Conversations About Be-ing Human series is part of Amarillo College’s ongoing effort to foster meaningful community dialogue about the intersections of culture, technology, and religion in contemporary life. The views and opinions of the panelists are their own and do not represent those of Amarillo College or its affiliates.
