Amarillo College to Present Annual Music Student Honors Recital
Amarillo College will present its annual Music Department Student Honors Recital at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 3 in the Concert Hall Theater.
Students selected to perform on the Honors Recital are chosen based upon faculty recommendations following December juries. The recital showcases outstanding student musicians who have demonstrated exceptional performance skill and artistry.
“The Honors Recital represents the highest level of achievement among our music students,” said Camille Nies, AC professor of music and chair of the Department of Music. “These performers have demonstrated exceptional dedication, growth, and artistry, and this concert provides an opportunity to celebrate their accomplishments and share their talents with the community.”
This year’s honored performers include:
- Marcus Ochoa, guitar
- Kimberly Aparicio, guitar
- Hannah Gurule, mezzo-soprano
- Zachary Carter Barner, percussion/marimba
- Logan Branum, clarinet
- Alek Hunton, clarinet
- Ezekiel Johnston, piano
- Jody Phillips, tenor
The program will also feature special guest performer and AC music alumna Lyndi Williams, soprano.
The Honors Recital is an annual tradition highlighting the depth of talent within the Amarillo College Music Department and providing the community an opportunity to experience exceptional live performance.
Admission is free and open to the public.
