Best of Show among honors claimed by AC students at Advertising Awards Banquet
Several AC students earned recognition at the annual event in which Amarillo’s chapter of the American Advertising Federation recognizes excellence in advertising among both the professional and collegiate ranks.
Blake Cripps led the way for AC by capturing one Gold Award for Illustration Series, another Gold for Single Illustration, a Special Judges Award for Outstanding Illustration, and Best of Show for Illustration. The Best of Show award earned him a prestigious green jacket at the golf-themed event.
AC’s Stephen Zaller also received multiple recognitions, emerging from the ceremony with a Gold Award for Art Direction and a Silver Award for Illustration Font.
Silver Awards also went to AC students Skyler Hamby for Logo Design; Michelle Martinez for Illustration Series; and David Milburn, for Package Design.
Students were not the only AC representatives to come away from the event with hardware. Professional recognition went Derek Weathersbee, AC instructor of graphic design, who laid claim to a Silver Award for Logo Design.
According to the Amarillo AAF website, the competition “recognizes and rewards the creative spirit of excellence in the art of advertising.”
