The Amarillo College Board of Regents purposefully expanded both its membership and jurisdictional perspective in January of 2016 by appointing two non-voting members to represent AC branch campuses in Dumas and Hereford.
Branch-campus representatives receive three-year appointments to the Board.
Representing AC’s Moore County Campus is Michael Running of Dumas, who has held the position of chief executive officer for the Dumas Economic Development Corporation since 2008.
Running describes AC as top-tier asset that not only helps attract new industry and business to the Dumas area, but helps change young lives within the community.
“More and more firms value localized skills development and training programs over traditional monetary-based incentives,” Running said. “They see that a strong, post-secondary education system reflects a community’s hard-working values, which makes it an attractive location to do business.
“I am excited and humbled by the opportunity to work with the Board of Regents.”
