Amarillo College is proud to announce the launch of the Badger Bound Scholarship Program, a transformative initiative designed to strengthen the educational pipeline and create early access to higher education for students across our entire service area. Students who complete 15 hours of dual credit through Amarillo College qualify for up to 45 hours of free tuition, fees, books, and course materials.
The Badger Bound Scholarship Program is more than a financial award; it is a comprehensive strategy for early college access, student engagement, and degree/certificate completion. This program serves all high schools within Amarillo College’s Panhandle service region, ensuring that every qualified student has an opportunity to accelerate their college journey through structured dual-credit pathways.
In close collaboration with K–12 partners, the Badger Bound Scholarship Program reinforces our shared commitment to building sustainable, student-centered academic pathways. The program promotes active engagement between college faculty and high school educators to align curriculum, streamline credit transfer, and provide robust academic advising. By also targeting underserved and first-generation students, the program removes financial and systemic barriers that often limit access to higher education.
At the heart of the scholarship is a 15-hour dual credit requirement completed while in high school. This intentional design ensures that students enter college with momentum having already demonstrated college readiness and accrued credits toward a certificate or degree. The program offers clearly defined academic pathways that support completion and workforce relevance, positioning students to succeed in high-demand fields while reducing time-to-degree and minimizing debt.
