C. Jones named VP of employee and organizational development at AC
Jones is presently the vice president of human resources at BSA. Pending approval of the AC Board of Regents, she will fill the vice-presidential vacancy created by the resignation of Lyndy Forrester, whose last day at AC is Dec. 31.
As vice president of employee and organizational development, Jones will be charged with leading all aspects of human resources at the College, and she will oversee the AC police and information technology departments.
“The values of the College align with my own,” Jones said. “I look forward to supporting the extraordinary AC workforce and contributing to the wonderful efforts of the organization that is striving in so many ways to elevate not only our students, but our entire community.”
Jones has worked at BSA since 2002, serving the past four years as a vice president. From 2009 to 2015, she was BSA’s director of human resources, organizational development and employee health. She managed human resources operations at BSA from 2004-2009.
“Cheryl Jones has a proven track record of fostering employee development and leadership that makes her an exceptionally capable and highly valued choice,” AC President Russell Lowery-Hart said. “The College is fortunate and I am elated that she has accepted a leadership role with us.”
Jones completed a bachelor of business administration degree in marketing at Abilene Christian University in 1989, and she earned a master’s degree in management from West Texas A&M University in 2007.
She is a member of the Workforce Development Board for Workforce Solutions Panhandle, a member of the Executive Committee for No Limits, No Excuses, and serves on the Leadership Team for Amarillo Area Center for Advanced Learning (AACAL).
