College to host Men in Healthcare, a career exploration event March 26
Amarillo College is pleased to announce its upcoming Men in Healthcare career exploration event, which is from 8:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 26 in Building A, Room 109 at the West Campus, 6222 SW 9th Ave.
This event is part of the College's ongoing effort to encourage and support men in pursuing non-traditional gender careers, particularly in the healthcare field.
The event will bring together representatives from various healthcare professions, who will share their experiences and insights as men working in the industry. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn about the rewarding career paths available in the healthcare field, and how Amarillo College can help them achieve their goals through its degree and certification programs.
"We are thrilled to offer this unique opportunity for men to explore careers in healthcare," said Ryan Francis, Perkins Activities Coordinator at Amarillo College. "By showcasing the success stories of men in these traditionally female-dominated fields, we hope to inspire and encourage more men to pursue their passions and consider a career in healthcare."
The event is free and open to the community, as well as Amarillo College students and area high school students. Attendees will have the chance to tour the College's learning facilities, share in lunch, attend a speaker panel featuring industry professionals, and receive advising and registration assistance for Amarillo College's healthcare programs.
Highlighted programs include Dental Hygiene, Medical Assisting Certificate, Respiratory Care, Medical Laboratory Tech, Nuclear Medicine, Nursing Certificate, Occupational Therapy Assistant, Physical Therapist Assistant, Radiation Therapy, Radiography, and Surgical Technology.
Space is limited, so early registration is encouraged. Lunch will be provided for all attendees.
