College workforce to mobilize Oct. 28 for AC Cares fall volunteer day
Such will be the case on Saturday, Oct. 28, when as many as 200 volunteers from among AC’s faculty and staff will turn out for the College’s annual AC Cares volunteer day. The project is an opportunity for the AC workforce to provide assistance in a variety of capacities throughout the city.
The AC Family will be represented from 9 a.m. to noon at the following community-service organizations:
- Habitat for Humanity, 2808 S. Mirror St.
- Faith City Mission, 401 S.E. 2nd Ave.
- High Plains Food Bank, 815 Ross St.
- The Children’s Home, 3400 S. Bowie St.
- Salvation Army, 400 S. Harrison St.
- Wesley Community Center, 1615 S. Roberts St.
- Downtown Women’s Center, 409 St. Monroe St.
The College introduced AC Cares in 2015, and it has become an annual event for cleaning, repairing, painting, building and more. Employee family members also are encouraged to join in, too.
When the work is finished, AC Cares will conclude with lunch served by the AC Cooking Team at the Washington Street Campus — on the Oeschger Family Mall.
