Jerrod is a Licensed Professional Counselor with over 8 years of experience working in the mental health field. In October 2021, Jerrod joined Amarillo College’s Counseling Center and has deeply enjoyed supporting AC’s students on their journeys in self-discovery and reshaping their future through their college experience. Jerrod has certified trainings in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR), Dialectical Behavior Therapy skills (DBT), and Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT). His therapeutic approach emphasizes a collaborative process guided by the clients’ personalized goals and strengths, and his clinical interests include depression, anxiety, trauma, life transitions, relationships, and grief. In his spare time, Jerrod enjoys traveling to concerts with his wife, spending time with his dogs and cats, playing board/card games, and (slowly and stubbornly) picking up golf.

Alyssa earned her BA in English Education in 2015 and her MA in Mental Health Counseling in 2020 at WTAMU. Alyssa has received training in CBT, DBT, CPT, Restoration Therapy and completed her EMDR certification in 2025. Alyssa greatly enjoys working with clients to process and remove barriers that prevent clients from experiencing the fullness of life. Alyssa’s clinical interests include working with clients experiencing struggles related to trauma, attachment issues, boundaries, communication, and navigating relationship ruptures as well as anxiety and ADHD.

Shawnee is a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate who earned her MA in Counseling from West Texas A&M University in December 2024 and became licensed in October 2025. She is excited to work with students at Amarillo College and support them as they manage their mental health and navigate life’s challenges. Shawnee has always been passionate about helping others and understands that life can come with many hardships. She strives to create a safe, encouraging space where students feel supported, understood, and empowered toward mental wellness and personal growth. When she is not working, Shawnee enjoys spending time with family, practicing yoga, being outdoors in nature, and connecting with friends.
