       Day 0: Preparing for a Successful Semester (And Actually Implementing It)

Description:

       This is not your traditional cohort... this workshop-based cohort will focus on implementing a different component into your classroom (and blackboard) with each meeting. Since the pandemic, our teaching methods have been forced to change but some aspects of our teaching have not been updated to coincide with the current needs of our students. Let's collaborate to prepare for a successful and engaging semester.

Learning Objectives:
  • Create a new syllabus that reflects updated practices
  • Be prepared for the first day of class
  • Implement pre-tests, checkpoints, and opportunities for low stakes assessment with feedback.
  • Learn to provide tools to scaffold learning, studying, and note taking.
  • Optimize their Blackboard for student engagement and learning.

Deliverable:

       Participants will select a specific strategy from one of the available modules to integrate into their classrooms. Following its implementation, they will submit a reflection, detailing their experiences and observations through the provided link.
