CTL Mission

The Center for Teaching and Learning promotes transformative, evidence-based, and engaging professional learning for the enrichment of faculty and administrators to ensure academic success of all students at Amarillo College.

Our programs and services support the AC Mission and Values by focusing on three interconnected areas:

  1. Student Engagement: Champion current and emerging instructional strategies and student engagement techniques to advance student learning.

  2. Sense of Belonging: Promote meaningful, accessible, and inclusive learning experiences for all students in physical and virtual learning spaces.

  3. Digital Learning: Foster pedagogical practices that leverage technology to improve student learning.

Guiding Principles

As an institution, our mission is to enrich the lives of our students and community by helping learners identify an educational pathway that will ultimately lead to success in life. In the Center for Teaching and Learning we believe in:

  1. an integrated professional learning system to support all faculty throughout their careers.

  2. providing an evidence-based culture to promote student success through engagement in the classroom.

  3. cultivating a transformative learning community where all learners have access to meaningful, equitable, and engaging learning experiences.
