With this degree, students are able to transform ideas into workable drawings that detail size, shape, and materials. Students will be able to enter the workforce quickly and in the local area or in larger cities. Possible career fields include Architectural design, Electrical design, Mechanical and Machine design, Structural design, Manufacturing, or even Marine Design. Graduates often work with engineers, architects, and senior designers to prepare plans for the manufacturing and construction industries. Our program will give graduates a good foundation to further their education in Architecture or Engineering.

The Drafting Program at Amarillo College utilizes the most up-to-date industry-related software – AutoCAD, MicroStation, Inventor, Chief Architect, etc. – to equip students with all the drafting, architectural, and mechanical know-how that leads to careers success. AC also tailors its Drafting courses to meet specific needs of local business and industry to ensure that program graduates swiftly become valuable members of the area workforce.
