To remain in compliance with local clinical site requirements and the Texas Administrative Code, Title 25, Part 1, Chapter 97, Subchapter B, Rule ยง97.64, all immunization requirements must be satisfied prior to any patient contact in a clinical setting.
These immunizations include:
Tetanus-diphtheria (Tdap) within 10 years
Measles (two doses) (preferably MMR vaccine)
Mumps (two doses) (preferably MMR vaccine)
Rubella (preferably MMR vaccine)
Hepatitis-B Immunization (complete series) (typically, a 3-injection series requiring 4-6 months for completion)
Varicella (two doses) (chicken pox: Documentation of either vaccination, or a positive varicella antibody titer. Note: a past history of having the disease is not sufficient!)
Influenza (if your clinical rotations occur during flu season: October to May)
A negative TB test within the last year
Clinical/Field internship facilities may institute additional requirements at their sole discretion.
