Amarillo College provides Engineering students with the opportunity to begin developing skills and problem-solving abilities that lead to success. The program offers students the basic courses for the first two years of a four or five-year curriculum leading to a bachelor of science degree. It accommodates most specialties in engineering in which the student may select a major concentration – chemical, civil/mechanical/nuclear, electrical or petroleum. AC Engineering students have gone on to obtain doctorates, been named outstanding majors at universities, and found success in many industries.
Engineering is a broad subject which splits into many different disciplines, so the careers open to engineering graduates are wide and varied. There currently is a high demand for talented engineering graduates, and impressive salaries are not uncommon.
