Entrepreneurship Seminars offered at AC in June for English Language Learners

ESLhpThe Entrepreneurship Seminar Series for English Language Leaners is free thanks to grant funding courtesy of the Texas Workforce Commission.

Qualified participants will be treated to three half-day seminars on consecutive weekends in June:

  • Introduction to Business Ownership
  • How to Draft a Business Plan
  • Human Resources Management Training

To take advantage of this unique opportunity, English language learners must have high-intermediate or advanced English capabilities, and they must attend a mandatory informational meeting.

The informational meeting is at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 3 on the second floor of the College Union Building, Room 203, on AC’s Washington Street Campus.

Program coordinators respectfully request that adults refrain from bringing young children to the meeting.

The seminar series is offered through a collaborative effort between AC’s Adult Education and Literacy program, the English as a Second Language (ESL) program, and the Amarillo College Business Division.

Individuals who complete the entire 12-hour series receive a certificate of completion and an introduction to business-support resources that are available within the community.

“This is the second time we’ve offered this free seminar series, which is made possible by the generosity of the Texas Workforce Commission,” Piech said. “We offered it for the first time earlier this spring. It proved to be highly popular and a great success. We are excited to be able to offer it once more because interest is certainly high.”
