The U.S. Department of Education has announced that collections on defaulted federal student loans will resume soon. Student loans are required to be repaid.  If you are a student loan borrower you can take the following steps to assist in the transition to repayment:

Step 1: Log into StudentAid.gov using your FSA ID and password to update your profile with current contact information.

Step 2: Review your repayment options, including the enhanced Income-Driven Repayment (IDR) plan process.

Step 3: Contact your loan servicer to set up payments or discuss your options. If you are unsure how to contact your servicer, log into your StudentAid.gov account for assistance.

Panhandle-Plains will also be reaching out to students to help them understand repayment options that may be availalbe to mitigate delinquency or default on their federal student loans.
