Grant Development & Compliance

The mission of the Grants Development & Compliance Office is to help faculty, staff, and administration secure external funds for programs that align with AC's Strategic Plan.  The No Excuses 2025 Strategic Plan Goals are:

  1.  Completion: Completion by improving persistence, decreasing time-to-completion, and creating a comprehensive transfer/completion pathway.
  2.  Align Degrees and Certificates with Labor Market Demand: Align degrees and certificates with current and new labor market demand by creating structured Amarillo College career pathways.
  3.  Learning: Increase student learning by infusing and scaling high impact teaching practices designed to align programs and courses based on competencies; improve student engagement, and strengthen performance of student learning outcomes.
  4.  Equity: Equitable degree and certificate attainment by building inclusive systems to increase minority hiring, enrollment and completion.
  5.  Financial Effectiveness: Build systems for financial effectiveness to creating innovative procedures supporting financial responsibility and fund-raising approaches.

  THE MISSION OF THE DEPARTMENT IS TO

  • Assist faculty, staff, and administration by identifying appropriate funding opportunities.
  • Facilitate an understanding of the grant application process.
  • Increase grant funding that supports the college's mission.
  • Provide stewardship by ensuring grant expenditures are in compliance with terms and conditions of award.
  • Ensure adherence to all college related polices and procedures.
  • Work collaboratively with other college departments.
  • Provide training on grant administration for newly hired administrative personnel or faculty awarded a first grant.
  • Participate in the College's annual Single Audit on federal and state program activities.
  • Enhance compliance and accountability through training on government, state, and private grants and contracts.
